The bimonthly journal Mechanics of Composite Materials is issued since 1965 (entitled Polymer Mechanics up to 1979).

For more than fifty years, Mechanics of Composite Materials has been the major journal for composite materials, publishing the latest results on composite mechanics gained by scientists from the Commonwealth of Independent States (the former USSR). In view of establishment of an International Advisory Board, Western scientists are also encouraged to contribute, thus providing a unique opportunity for mutual collaboration.

Academic OneFile, Academic Search, Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), ChemWeb, CSA, Current Abstracts, Current Contents/Engineering, Computing and Technology, Earthquake Engineering Abstracts, EBSCO, EI-Compendex, Engineered Materials Abstracts, Gale, Google Scholar, INIS Atomindex, INSPEC, Journal Citation Reports/Science Edition, Materials Science Citation Index, OCLC, Polymer Library, ProQuest, Reaction Citation Index, Science Citation Index Expanded (SciSearch), SCOPUS, Summon by Serial Solutions, VINITI - Russian Academy of Science.

Mechanics of Composite Materials enencourages publication of original experimental and theoretical research on the mechanical properties and behavior of composite materials and their matrices and fibers. Particular attention is focused on the following problems:

  • failure, fatigue, and long-term strength;
  • methods of optimum design of materials and structures;
  • prediction of long-term properties and aging problems;
  • nondestructive testing;
  • mechanical aspects of technology;
  • composites in civil engineering and infrastructure;
  • mechanics of nanocomposites;
  • mechanics of biocomposites.
